Have I mentioned that I think Ethan Bodnar is a pretty special and smart kid/designer? Have I mentioned that he makes me feel old because the way I talk about him makes me sound like a mom? (Note to readers...I am not old enough to have an 18 year old son...though it is not as unrealistic as I would like to think it is).

Anyway, he came to an artist talk at the jen bekman gallery last october that had me and Mike Perry yammering away about our work. Here is a flickr set of images from the talk.

Watching yourself talk about your work is weird. I have big teeth. I say "um" a lot. I wish I was smoother and I wish I sounded smarter at times. Perhaps I should practice talking in a mirror.

That would be dumb.

I don't think you have to worry about your 'performance'. It looks allright to me, natural.. Some people talk very.. like they learned the text by heart. You don't. People like to feel 'the artist' is human as well. I hope this doesn't sound silly.
